The versatile center of Castres Olympique, Vilimoni Botitu, will be called up by the Fijian national team due to the withdrawal of fly-half Caleb Muntz.
On Wednesday, the Fijis announced that their fly-half Caleb Muntz will not be participating in the entire World Cup. At 23 years old, he was set to be the starting number ten for the Fijian team. He had particularly impressed in the last two preparation matches against France, where they lost 34-17, and against England, where they won 30-22.
The Fijian coach Simon Raiwalui, recovered from this setback, had to search for a replacement for Caleb Muntz. It is ultimately the center, Vilimoni Botitu, who has been chosen by the Fijian staff, as revealed by L’Equipe, information that we are able to confirm. The player from Castres, who has played twice in his career as a fly-half, will soon join the Flying Fijians group, who have settled in Lormont (Gironde).
