The Brave Blossoms had a successful start in the World Cup on Sunday, September 10, despite the resistance from the Chileans, who are new to this level.

But just like the Irish team the day before, the Japanese didn’t take long to react either. Two minutes later, Fakatava had already put the Nippons back on track.

Les Nippons à l’expérience

They did not come out of it anymore. But Chile also never derailed. Despite two yellow cards and two bunkers, despite also conceding two new tries before halftime (30th, 40th), it continued to oppose its desire. Escobar’s try after returning from the locker room (48th) confirmed Chile’s courage.

However, in practice, the Japanese team, who reached the quarter-finals of the 2019 World Cup, handled their business smoothly. With three additional tries (in the 53rd, 71st, and 79th minutes) in a heated Stadium, they have started their World Cup perfectly and maintained their chances in an open Pool D with England, Argentina, and Samoa.
