The opening ceremony of the World Cup will take place at the Stade de France on September 8th. It will start at 8 pm and officially launch the global event, in a stadium that is already sold out. Therefore, the opening ceremony will precede the opening clash of the World Cup between France and New Zealand (9:15 pm).

The event will be broadcast live and in its entirety on TF1, the official broadcaster of the World Cup. The opening ceremony will be commented on by Anne-Claire Coudray and Isabelle Ithurburu.

World Rugby a dévoilé son dispositif pour l’événement et annoncé la présence « d’une pléiade de stars ». L’acteur français, Jean Dujardin, « sera impliqué » dans la cérémonie d’ouverture indique France 2023 dans son communiqué. Il sera accompagné de la metteuse en scène Nora Matthey, du directeur de spectacle Olivier Ferracci et de plus de 200 bénévoles passionnés.
