According to the communist elected official, the measures taken by the government over the past year are far from sufficient. « Bruno Le Maire is asking for salary increases, for the industry to lower prices… The reality is that it’s not working, » he said, therefore calling on the executive to « implement concrete measures to control prices and give purchasing power back to the French people. » Otherwise, the elected official is calling for protests. « If all of this is not done in the coming weeks, yes, we are calling for occupying gas stations, supermarkets, and prefectures, because the State is responsible, » Fabien Roussel declared.

The communist leader even believes that this is a « legitimate defense ». This remark did not go unnoticed… including among the allies of the Nupes. Jean-Luc Mélenchon was quick to comment on the social network X (formerly Twitter) to urge… not to follow him. « This violent initiative is purely personal. It has not been discussed anywhere, not even within the PCF. Therefore, I believe it would not be reasonable to associate with it given the violence it would entail in this complete lack of preparation. »
