The burglary took place on September 20 in Bollullos de la Mitación, in southern Spain, while the Sevilla FC defender was at the Sánchez Pizjuán stadium in Seville to play the Champions League match against Lens (1-1). The thieves reportedly stole luxury clothing, accessories, and cash.

The former player of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid had already been the target of a burglary attempt in 2012 at his Madrid home, but the thieves fled when they realized the player was inside the house.
