Carlos Sainz Jr (Ferrari) will start at the front of the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix after setting the fastest time in qualifying on Saturday, September 16, ahead of George Russell (Mercedes) and his teammate Charles Leclerc. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen did not even make it to Q3 and will start from the eleventh position, but he is still facing penalties. The qualifying session had been interrupted earlier due to a major accident involving Lance Stroll.
