Attention, il n’a rien volé à personne. Lui était là sur la ligne de départ, ce dimanche. Comme 170 coureurs, 10 kilomètres et semi-marathon compris. Et il a affronté un parcours pas facile, rendu encore plus exigeant par le vent. « La première partie de la première boucle était plutôt montante. Le vent de face dans les côtes, cela a fait du mal », confirme Paul Guillot en pleine préparation pour le marathon de Toronto.
Le sourire de la victoire surprise opposé à la force de l’habitude de Guillaume Auclair, vainqueur du 10 kilomètres, qui garde sa couronne après sa victoire en 2022 en 34 : 31.
Pour sa 78e victoire toutes courses confondues, comme il nous l’a confié, après avoir récupéré de sa course qui l’a un peu entamé physiquement. « C’était une course un peu difficile », reconnaît celui qui a fait la différence au 8e kilomètre. « Je fais le dernier kilo à bloc », poursuit celui qui tient à remercier tous les bénévoles de l’organisation affiliée à l’Est Charente Athlétique : « Et du premier au dernier, car le parcours est vraiment génial ».
Aubrée reprend sa couronne
In the women’s category, Irène Aubrée dominates the short distance with a time of 43:22. She is part of the new Tardoire Athlé club, which has taken over from CA Plassac. In the half marathon, the victory came from Haute-Vienne, with Mireille Tourissaud (AS Saint-Junien) finishing first in 1h41:46. « It was great to have my three pacemakers. I just recovered from an illness, so it was tough. The course is almost too challenging for a half marathon, with a lot of uphill sections. I run based on how I feel. »
