The Minister of Interior discussed the terrorist threat on the TV show « Quelle Epoque » on France 2, providing a detailed explanation of the various types of actions that France must confront.
Gérald Darmanin a évoqué samedi soir la menace terroriste toujours « très forte » en France et la résurgence du risque d’attentat conçu à l’étranger, du type de ceux du 13 novembre 2015, en raison de la moindre présence « des Américains, des Français, au Sahel, au Levant et en Afghanistan ».
« La menace projetée : le Bataclan »
During the « Quelle Epoque » show on France 2, the Minister of Interior discussed the various terrorist threats that France is facing. He mentioned « projected threats, » which refer to terrorist plots designed abroad and executed by teams sent to France. He stated, « The projected threat: the Bataclan. For a long time, we believed that it could never happen again. »

When asked if he « thought there could be a new Bataclan, » he replied, « We are taking precautions against the potential projected threat that is reconstituting because the Americans, the French are less present in the Sahel, the Levant, and Afghanistan. »
However, according to him, the main terrorist threat is internal, meaning it comes from a radicalized individual acting alone. « It’s very difficult. We prevent an attack every two months in France, » he said, noting that « 5,800 individuals are listed in the Ministry of Interior’s records whom (the authorities) believe could carry out an attack. » Lastly, the minister added that the last threat comes from the « far right, » including « supremacists and accelerationists. » According to him, they number « a few dozen. »
