The coach of OL has been suspended by the club management and will not be on the Lyon bench for the resumption of the championship next weekend.
Laurent Blanc’s Lyon adventure has come to an end. The former French national team coach has been suspended by the management of OL and will therefore be leaving the club less than a year after being appointed. The news was initially reported by L’Équipe and later confirmed by the coach’s entourage to AFP. He is paying the price for the team’s disastrous start to the season, currently occupying last place in the league after four matchdays.
Jean-François Vulliez, who was part of the coaching staff of the Cévenol coach, will temporarily take over the interim, and will be assisted by Sonny Anderson and Jérémie Bréchet, according to the sports newspaper.

Laurent Blanc parti, la direction lyonnaise travaille dans le même temps sur le nom de son successeur, qui pourrait être selon plusieurs médias l’ancien international italien Gennaro Gattuso. De nombreuses pistes auraient été activées, sans succès, ces dernières semaines pour occuper le banc lyonnais, alors que le club traverse une crise sportive et institutionnelle sans précédent depuis plus de 20 ans.
