After defeating AS Saint-Etienne last month, RAF has now added SCO Angers to their list of victories this Saturday evening, winning convincingly at home (4-1).
The supporters from Rodez witnessed last night two matches for the price of one. Indeed, during the first 45 minutes, the Aveyronnais team appeared sluggish and powerless, to the point of conceding a goal after 80 seconds from a weak shot by Diony (0-1, 2nd minute). We thought that RAF would replicate the matches seen against Valenciennes or Pau. However, there was a superb second half, highlighting all the positive thoughts one can have about this team when they reach their level of technical, physical, and mental demands.

Thus, Angers had to concede an equalizer from Corredor just seconds after the second half resumed (1-1, 45+1). It is clear that the Angevins did not enter the match in the same way. Similar to what RAF had shown at the beginning of the game… Then a few seconds later, Taïbi gave the advantage to the euphoric Aveyronnais (2-1, 48th) while the visitors lost their football. Rodez was aggressive on every ball, projected offensively with efficiency, and Hountondji scored his first goal of the season by sliding the ball under the goalkeeper, Fofana (3-1, 85th).

Then, with a powerful strike from outside the box, Rajot scored a goal (4-1, 88th minute). The unexpected score of 4-1 allowed Rodez to climb to 7th place in the championship. This can be considered a benchmark match at the beginning of the season, as it opens up promising possibilities based on the performance in the second half. It is evident that improving the first half will be a focus for future work before facing Dunkerque and Troyes in just a few days.
