[VIDEO] « Earning 1,800 euros per month without doing anything »: Mertel, the YouTuber who boasted about defrauding social benefits, is going to be subjected to scrutiny.

After the scandal caused by the release of the video encouraging fraud, the Minister of Solidarity and Families, Aurore Bergé, announced on Tuesday, September 19th that she has initiated an investigation with the National Family Allowance Fund (CNAF).

The YouTuber Mertel wanted his moment of fame, and he got it. In a widely shared video on social media, he explains how he managed to manipulate the benefits by combining the Adult Disability Allowance (AAH), the Specific Solidarity Allowance (ASS), and the Personalized Housing Assistance (APL). This allowed him to earn « 1800 euros net per month, without doing anything. »

He says it himself, it’s a jackpot he received « without doing anything, without working, » he boasts. So this man. A successful sleight of hand because « I’m just disabled on paper because I arranged it with a doctor… I manipulated him. »

And this expertise, he is even willing to share it. He offers, through a 300 euro training, to reveal his secrets for defrauding the AAH. He has no pity for these « stupid employees who get up in the morning to go to work » to pay for the famous benefits.

However, the video was so successful that it reached the Minister of Solidarity and Families, Aurore Bergé. She wasted no time in initiating a CNAF inspection and contacting the MDPH. On X (formerly Twitter), she stated: « A video of an individual claiming to commit social welfare fraud has been circulating on social media since last night. My response is clear: zero tolerance for fraudsters, » she scolded.

Mertel deletes his YouTube account.

And it should be noted that in 2022, « more than 32 million inspections were carried out, leading to the detection of 48,692 cases of fraud amounting to 351.4 million euros (an increase of 13.5% compared to 2021). Our social model is too valuable to be damaged: I will not let anything go unnoticed, » concluded the minister.

In response to the controversy, Mertel has deleted his Youtube account, but the video in which he confesses his wrongdoing continues to spread widely.
