An investigation has been launched following a complaint filed by the leader of La France insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, regarding malicious phone calls and death threats related to the Israel-Hamas conflict, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed on Wednesday, confirming a report by Libération.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the complaint is dated October 14th. The brigade for the repression of crimes against persons has been assigned to conduct the investigations. According to Libération, the phone number of the Insoumis (Jean-Luc Mélenchon) was published on an extreme right-wing website, and he subsequently received numerous death threats via calls and messages.
