Less than a week after eliminating the French national rugby team, who are hosting the Rugby World Cup, South Africa will face England on Saturday night in an attempt to defend their title in the final.

The veteran Duane Vermeulen, aged 37, retains his position at N.8 in the starting XV. He is once again preferred over Jasper Wiese, who started in the group matches against Scotland and Ireland and does not appear on the bench. The colossal Eben Etzebeth, who previously played for Toulon, is also retained in the second row alongside Franco Mostert. Like against France (29-28), the bench consists of five forwards and three backs.
