« I am not on a crusade against Mrs. Barèges, » declares Eric Raynier, who will make his entrance into the Montauban city council on Tuesday.

Mais Eric Raynier, qui était candidat en 2020 sur la liste d’union de la gauche conduite par Arnaud Hilion, annonce qu’il ne siégera dans aucun groupe. « Je serai dans une opposition constructive. »

Le conseil municipal de Montauban, qui se réunit ce mardi 17 octobre à 17 heures, va accueillir un nouveau membre dans les rangs de l’opposition. Éric Raynier va siéger à la place de Jacques Zamuner, démissionnaire.

« I will not join any group. Remaining free and independent is my choice, linked to my commitment to Arnaud Hilion’s list for the 2020 municipal elections, » declares Eric Raynier.

At 56 years old, this son of shopkeepers, now an independent trainer after working for 27 years at Pro A Pro, « a very good company, » traces the beginning of his political commitment back to 1993. Two years later, he ran for the municipal elections in Montauban and became the youngest elected councilor during the 1995-2001 term. « My references are more towards Jospin and Rocard, but I am not a member of the Socialist Party. I have always been interested in the life of the city in a broad sense, but when it comes to the city council, I position myself as a constructive opposition and I want to continue to have my freedom of decision. »

I am part of a think tank, composed of both affiliated and non-affiliated individuals, with whom I collaborate. We contemplate the future of Montauban, even though we are not in control.

In the 13th position on the left-wing union list « Alternative for Montauban, » Eric Raynier has not succumbed to the temptations of a party. « I am part of a think tank, composed of members and non-members, with whom I work. We discuss topics such as mobility and climate change. We reflect on the future of Montauban even if we are not in control. »

Éric Raynier affirme clairement qu’il n’est pas en guerre contre Mme Barèges. Il aime profondément cette ville et apprécie certaines réalisations, comme la place Nationale, à laquelle il adhère pleinement. Il y a cependant d’autres réalisations qui lui plaisent moins. Son objectif en tant que conseiller est de travailler de manière constructive et de contribuer à quelque chose de positif. L’opposition compte 11 membres sur les 49 conseillers, et ils représentent les Montalbanais.
