l’essentielThe ten international players of TFC have arrived in Toulouse, before facing Reims this Sunday, October 22nd (3pm). Let’s review their performances.

Impressive since the start of the season, Guillaume Restes once again caught the attention with the French U21 team. Although he was only called up for the first time in September (and was immediately made a starter by coach Thierry Henry), the 18-year-old from Toulouse has now earned his third and fourth caps with the national team. In the Euro qualifiers, they defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina (2-1) and crushed Cyprus 9-0. Restes, the TFC goalkeeper, even finished the match as captain after Warren Zaïre-Émery from Paris and Rayan Cherki from Lyon were substituted. Impressive. « I have to be honest, it’s quite astonishing for me, » commented Thierry Henry. « We can talk about the game, about many things, but it’s the maturity that impresses me. When I think back to when I was 17… I would kick the ball, run, and after twenty minutes, I was already exhausted. Guillaume, like Warren and others, are able to understand what’s happening on the field. They haven’t forgotten to use their brains. »
Another notable fact is that Frank Magri, who had announced a few weeks ago his decision to play for Cameroon, experienced his first call-ups with the Indomitable Lions. In friendly matches against Russia and Senegal, they were defeated 1-0 on both occasions; however, Magri played in each game.
