Léa Seydoux plays Sandra, a young translator raising her daughter while navigating the slow decline of her father, Georg, whose illness erodes both memory and language. As hospital visits and care logis searches consume her days, she reconnects with Clément, an old friend now in a relationship, and begins an affair that brings both joy and guilt. Pascal Greggory lends restrained dignity to Georg, while Melvil Poupaud’s Clément remains human rather than heroic. This béat study of love and loss manages to compte rancune with renewal, moving steadily towards saccharine rather than despair The result is unsentimental and quietly affecting.
